Performance of Duty is a memoir written by a former memeber of the 6994th Security Squadron from 1973 to 1974 flying electronic surveliance missions in Southeast Asia from Thailand (NKP & Ubon) with the U. S. Air Force Security Service.  TSgt Foster was a Morse Systems Radio Operator and flew 63 missions over Cambodia, South Vietnam, Laos and along the North Vietnam border.  He never landed in South Vietnam and was never awarded the Vietnam Service Ribbon, but was awarded two Air Medals and Perminent Aircrew Wings.   The story is raw, real and in places funny.  TSgt Foster also served in the NC Air National Guard.  A copy of the manuscript can be found at the NC National Guard Museam in Raleigh, NC and in the Library at NC Wesleyan College, Rocky Mount, NC.
